Tape backup

We recommend disk backup over tape backup.  Tape backup is not a reliable method of backing up files on a day-to-day basis.  The tape drives and media are delicate and frequently fail and wear out.  It’s also a very time consuming backup method, so it can be difficult to recover files, and even more difficult to recover a whole system.  Tape backup has poor reliability, it’s time consuming, and it’s difficult to access.

Disk backup

Backup and restore times with disks are significantly faster than tape, and they are more reliable.  We can provide a disk backup solution to meet your needs, with built in redundancy.  So, if in the event of a disk failure, we would simply replace the faulty disk and the data would automatically be restored from the other disks.  The backup would be fully automated using RAID, and the data would be mirrored across all disks.  The advantages of backing up using disk are; faster to backup, faster to restore, reliable, manageable.
